Fashion Beyond Reality: UTSC’s AR Fashion Exhibition

Fashion Beyond Reality” is a 1-day fashion exhibition on-campus that showcases artistic and creative talent through augmented reality (AR). Students are encouraged to submit their digital art designs through our provided Google Forms in which we will shortlist eight designs to be exhibited at the showcase. Selected designers will work in collaboration with student AR designers to create immersive digital art pieces to be showcased at the exhibition. Exhibition visitors will be able to view the physical designs in person and explore additional designs through AR, which can be accessed using their mobile devices by scanning a corresponding QR code under each t-shirt design, ultimately bringing the fashion pieces to life through digital enhancements. The exhibition will additionally be accompanied by a voting ballot where attendees can vote for their favorite piece, and for the tshirt and AR designer (pair) to be awarded as the “audience’s choice winner,” a fun and engaging way for all students to come together and celebrate art, fashion, technology, and community. Essentially, the event aligns with UTSC’s values and strategic priorities for student-led clubs: community engagement, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
