This is a 3D model of two rings with elements based on space. It is displayed for the viewer to look around it from the inside. It rotates, so the viewer can see the stars, moon, and planets. The planets in the model consist of Mercury and Neptune. Outer Swirl was inspired by the phrase "out of this world." When I think about this phrase, I think of outer space. The universe is something unreachable for many people. There are few who have seen outer space with their own eyes rather than just pictures. Space is a world of its own. It's enormous and unknown. Our world lies in the Milky Way, which also lies in a bigger universe. It is beautiful in its own way alongside the many stars, which can be different things from afar. The Outer Swirl model spins slowly, referencing the solar system.
