The Niroobakhsh PRISM research group focuses on the self-assembly, rheological properties, and fluid dynamics of soft materials, including surfactants and lipids, polymer solutions, and microemulsions. We develop sustainable materials that can be used for energy and biomedical technologies. We conduct experimental and computational investigations on developing, characterizing, and fabricating soft materials mainly made from surfactants, polymers, and colloids. Rheology, mechanical testing, X-ray scattering, and dissipative particle dynamic (DPD) Simulations will be used for the structure-property relation of the materials. Our group studies the printability of developed gels and soft materials using free-form or layer-by-layer extrusion-based 3D printing platforms. The research projects are sponsored by NSF and ACS_PRF grants.
